Hypatia



Hypatia was born between 350 and 370.
She was a Greek scholar from Alexandria in Egypt. Above all she integrated the tradition of Plato's philosophy. After she taught mathematics, philosophy and astronomy.

She lived in Egypt during the Roman occupation. Despite her good judgement, she was blamed because she didn’t want to become Christian and she was killed by a group of Christians at 415.

Hypatia was considered the first notable woman in history.
